TNA Impact 4/17 *Live Coverage*

[Refresh every 5 minutes for live coverage]

TNA starts out with Eric Young going down memory lane and telling the audience there is no more paper champions and there are chants from the crowd, “you deserve it” but Dixie Carter interrupts EY's moment of bravado. Dixie (not surprisingly) takes credit for his latest achievement. Dixie also takes credit for the long beard and while tugging on EY's beard while going on her “credits”. Dixie also goes on to say that Eric Young could be a hood ornament for her car while EY says he hopes there are “puke bags” in the car because every time he is around her, she makes him puke. Dixie also tells him a champ should be a man of style and that will happen when she does a makeover for him. Dixie also insults EY's girl. Bully Ray comes down and asks the crowd “how many people are here sick and tired of her talking?”Bully Ray also says Eric is a role model, from a person who worked all the way from the bottom all the way to the top. Bully Ray also gets the crowd to chant “Na na na, goodbye” to Dixie Carter. Bully Ray says he doesn't like many people nor endorse them but says he respects Eric Young and before break, he also gets the crowd to chant "EY, EY"

Up now is Knockout Street Fight with Velvet Sky coming out first and see a trash can full of goodies and gets a Kendo stick to be prepared. Madison Rayne's music plays but comes out from behind, attack Velvet Sky to get the initial advantage. Velvet Sky gets the advantage as she is thrown in the ring and is able to get some hits on the current Knockouts champ. Rayne now hits Sky turnbuckle to turnbuckle and Sky regroups and The Beautiful People get the advantage again and Rayne is hit a few times with a cooking pan. 2 count. Angelina Love gives her other half a trash can, only for Madison Rayne to kick it in Velvet Sky's face. The Knockout champ uses the aluminum weapon a few more times and is setting up for something but Love hits the back of Madison Rayne and goes after her but gets sidestepped and Madison Rayne is able to capitalize on it and get the 1-2-3.

Winner: Madison Rayne

Backstage, EY thanks Bully Ray. Enter Abyss and tells him to see what he has done and because EY said he was a fighting champion, Abyss wants a title shot and Eric Young ups the challenge and makes a “monster's ball” match. Should be interesting if and probably when Magnus interferes.

(break)

Back from break and Spud is complaining about his leg to EC3 but EC3 said it was okay to be afraid of Willow. Pep talk to Spud and get themselves ready for later tonight. In the ring is MVP and is congratulating Eric Young. Now on the subject of Samoa Joe and is “unavailable”. Austin Aries makes a surprise entry down to the ring and talks about him being the most disgruntled man in TNA. AA wanted some answers for not being in the 10 man gauntlet. MVP seems to have AA on the sidelines for not being straight up with Austin Aries. MVP makes the challenge but Austin Aries says....next week and won't trade fists with a convicted felon....eluding to MVP's past.

The tag team championships are up for grabs as The Wolves try to regain the tag team championships. Wolves strike first and go for a quick cover. Tag to Eddie Edwards and a double team move goes unsuccessful as the Wolves reverse it. Edwards goes to the top but the other half of The Bromans shake the rope. The Bromans are in control as Robbie does a gorilla press on EE. Tag to Jessie and another tag is made with some miscommunication and Davey Richards gets the hot tag and does vicious knife edge chops to both members. The Wolves do their tag team finisher and the 1-2, DJ-Z gets the DQ and The Wolves win by DQ but no titles.

Winners: The Wolves

Later tonight, “Monster's Ball” championship match. Up now is the handicap match between Rockstar Spud and EC3 and Willow. The team of Spud and EC3 try to get the best of Willow by going opposite sides but didn't work. EC3 uses his power to his advantage to start things out but the momentum is quickly reversed with Willow uses some elbows and kicks. Willow goes to the top but falls via Spud shaking the rope. 2 count on Willow. Spud congratulating EC3 and is tag in but not for long as Willow grabs Spud's leg and EC3 gets a vicious back elbow. Willow with some reversals and pins but both are not a 2 count. EC3 capitalizes on Spud's brief interference and gets a moonlight drive neckbreaker for a 2 count. Willow gets some elbows on both EC3 and Spud is tagged in, Twist of Fate for the 1-2-3. EC3 beats on Willow after the match and goes after the leg but before EC3 could do more damage, Kurt Angle comes down and gets a German suplex as Willow high-tails it out of the ring.

Winner; Willow

(break)

Back from break and Kurt Angle is in the middle of the ring and has the mic and says it seems that EC3 has seen a ghost. “Welcome back” chants by the crowd. He tells he will retire when he wants to retire. He goes on in the camera saying he will break his arms, ankles and other areas but not at once. He will take his time and not put him out on a stretcher but a body bag. Roode backstage and opens an open challenge but not to Bully Ray cuz he wants him to see what he will do to his challenger.

(break)

Video of Sanada and how he pushes himself to bring honor to Japan and how he pushes himself harder than anyone else. Kenny King comes out and “all his chocolate splendor” isn't going anywhere. He said he didn't care to talk about MVP's intelligence, “because that would be a short sentence”. He says whoever wins the title between Tigre Uno and Sanada better lay that belt in front of him. Now to X Division Championship. Kenny King is on commentary and match number 2 between the two. Match starts out high flying as expected as both were thinking with a standing dropkick. Sanada gets some moves in but Tigre Uno gets a reversal, a failed attempt springboard. Tiger suplex which is reversed into a hurricanrana and Sanada gets a TKO but a 2 count. Tigre Uno is able to tie the series after a very impressive 450 splash.

Winner; Tigre Uno and the series is knotted at 1-1.

Up next, we find out who answers Bobby Roode's open challenge.

(break)

Bobby Roode already in the ring and we wait to see the challenger. Bobby Roode asked for a challenger and he now has to go with Gunner. Bobby Roode attacks Gunner briefly before the bell but Gunner fights backs with some fists and an elbow. Gunner ducks when Roode comes off the ropes but Roode reverses it for a neckbreaker and gets a table for this open table challenge. Gunner apparently wasn't weakened enough and goes after Roode. Gunner is able to reverse Roode into the steel steps. Gunner tries to suplex Roode from the ring apron, assuming into the table outside but Bobby Roode reverses it. Head into the turnbuckle, which angers Gunner but Roode almost gets Gunner into a table from a reversal. Over the top neckbreaker which gives Roode some time. Roode looks to powerbomb Gunner through the table in the ring. Running Triple H knee to Roode and Gunner has some momentum but Gunner is caught into a Roode bomb but is reversed. Running turnbuckle knee and Roode is on the table and Gunner is on top but James Storm interferes and falls on the table but breaks a piece of it. Roode Bomb for the win. They look to put Gunner through another table but Bully Ray's music plays and both men run.

Winner; Bobby Roode

Highlights of what people think of TNA's new world champion with Willow saying “he's the greatest TNA World Champion ever”...okay. Up next, the TNA World Championship is on the line.

(break)

Bully Ray talks to Gunner and says he's going to pick himself up like a “frickin' Marine” and do something against Storm and Roode next week. Now the TNA World Championship is going to be defended in “Monster's Ball” rules. Eric Young wastes little time hitting Abyss with a cooking pan and then the garbage pan after it was thrown in by the world champ. Kendo stick by EY but Abyss stops that notion. Abyss grabs EY for a chokeslam but is reversed but Abyss throws Eric Young out of the ring. Abyss carries the trash can but Eric does a slide to render Abyss temporarily phased and EY goes for a suicide attempt but Abyss counters that attack with a hit to the head with the aluminum weapon.

(break)

Back to the world title match, and Abyss is in control over Eric's first defense. Steel chair put into position in the corner by Abyss and Eric Young slides after almost being thrown into the chair. Eric Young does for a diving dropkick but is caught into a slingshot position and is catapulted into the corner steel chair. Abyss reaches under the ring and brings out a bad of tacs and EY gets a low blow and hangs on for a couple of moments. Eric Young has momentum going for him but not too long as he couldn't get a piledriver on the much larger Abyss. Abyss reaches under the ring and the spiked piece of lumber misses its target and sticks into the top turnbuckle and Eric Young gets another low blow. EY gets the piece of lumber but Abyss gets the chokeslam to Eric Young on the tacs and a 2 count on the current TNA champ. Abyss goes underneath the ring again and brings the barbed-wire board into the fray. Abyss sets up for another chokeslam but Abyss is bitten by Eric Young and is dropkicked on the board by Eric Young. For the finish, EY goes to the top rope while Abyss is still laying on the barbed-wire board and gets the 1-2-3 from a flying elbow.

Winner; Eric Young
