The Stamford Advocate is reporting that WWE is currently looking to purchase a large-sized building from a bankrupt developer in Stamford, Connecticut. The building that the company is looking to purchase is the old AmeriCares headquarters on Hamilton Avenue in Stamford, which WWE would then use as their own television production building.
WWE has made a $27 million bid on the building, which is $3 million above the minimum price that was established by the court-approved sale coordinator. Currently, there are over 100 different bidders in the running for approximately eight different buildings from the same bankrupt developer.
In a statement to The Stamford Advocate, WWE had the following to say:
"An opportunity arose that made sense for us to pursue. If we’re successful in the purchase of the building, WWE would become the building’s landlord and assumes the previous owner’s lease obligations."
WWE previously had plans to begin construction on their own television production facility, but those plans have since been abandoned.
